Over the past few years, Kyrie Irving hasn’t had the best relationship with Nike. Things started to get worse when he shared a controversial film on his social media back in October. This made the NBA take action and suspended Irving, therefore Nike followed suit.
Irving is one of Nike’s top athletes and his signature sneaker the Nike Kyrie 8 was due to launch, but Nike canceled them also. Today Shams Chariana went to Twitter and broke the news that Nike has decided to drop Kyrie altogether. He said “Kyrie Irving is no longer a Nike athlete, Nike spokesperson says. The sides have parted ways one month after Nike suspended its relationship with the Nets star. Irving has one of the most popular signature shoes in the NBA and is now a sneaker-free agent.”

The Nike Kyrie basketball sneaker line is one of the most popular lines for the brand. All that has come to an end now as he is a free agent as far as sneakers go. As for what’s next for Irving we will have to see if he tries to do something on his own or if another brand will even be willing to work with him. Stay tuned we will keep you updated as this story unfolds.
